If budget is tight, a Garand rear sight will suffice, and trigger groups can be found for far less than the $295 you quote above. On Treeline, one can get all the parts for a barreled receiver, less rear sight and trigger group, for less than $500. Unless I missed it, Windy City doesn't even list parts kits any more. I'm not the OP but I believe he is starting from scratch.not with parts from yrs ago. The issue here is what can all this be bought for NOW. Thanks M14, I'll look for that kit on now But be advised, once you start shooting the M14, all your 03,a3's, m1's ar's.will sit and rust. If you have any problems, send me a pm and I'll do what I can to help locate all the parts and help you get it built. If you call Charlie at GLA and get him to barrel you a receiver, you can find the parts. I won't accept the newer ones anyway, I like the older fiber filled ones. Why? because I spend all my money on guns and shooting, and can't afford a McMillan. fiberglass stock, stiffened and filled with carbon fiber arrow shafts and fiberglass resin and cloth. That's recreational.įor competitions I use a g.i.
Shots were using a Zeiss Conquest with ballistic reticle. We only stopped at five because the rest is wasting ammo. It bagged out a repeatable 3.27" group of five shots at 600yds. I bedded it in an unissued big red stock from the already routed and relieved marine corps stash from long ago. The barrel is a bula, receiver was GLA, with g.i. I just built a 19 1/4" medium weight (the shortened one) that is an absolute hammer. It's not as bad as you estimate and Duce is correct, not much more than an sai. Don't know if I can justify that much for a recreational shooter. This seems like it would be more expensive in the long run, probably somewhere near 3G's. However if I were to go with GLA, where does a guy find the rest of the parts? Or are Kits available somewhere? Just looked on the JRA website, that shortened Rockola M14 looks real attractive.
